OSCAR PANTALEON JR. obtained his degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of the Philippines. In 1987, he joined the UP Madrigal Singers under the leadership of Prof. Andrea O. Veneracion, National Artist for Music, and went on national and international concert tours with the group until 1996. Earlier, he was actively involved with the UP Singing Ambassadors under Ed Manguiat and briefly sang with the UP Kasarinlan Ensemble led by Felipe De Leon Jr.
He studied choral conducting with Dean Reynaldo T. Paguio and voice with Prof. Ma. Cecilia Ongsiako-Valena at the UP. Since then, he has been actively involved in the national choral circle as conductor, music director, trainer, adjudicator and consultant. In 2009, he was appointed as the first secretary general of the Philippine Choral Directors Association. He has traveled nationwide as a regional center juror of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists. This year, he is the chairman of the NAMCYA choir category C.
As an arts management practitioner, Oscar Pantaleon has produced various concerts and recordings. He established his own production outfit, ConcertNet Philippines Co. in the mid-90s, managed the pop trio, III of A Kind, and has served as juror in various editions of the Awit Awards. He taught arts management at the De La Salle – College of St. Benilde and took care of the business services of The San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts that managed The San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra and The San Miguel Master Chorale. As a freelance project manager for the award-winning composer, Ryan Cayabyab, he has headed all the Hong Kong Disneyland auditions in Manila and is now assisting Mr. Cayabyab in the new Philippine Popular Music Festival.
As the Philippine Ambassador of the Contemporary A Cappella Society, he has sat as juror in various local and international competitions notably the Asian Competitions for Contemporary A Cappella in Taiwan, the National A Cappella Championships in Singapore, and the annual Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards in San Francisco. He has also conducted various artistic and management workshops for the Singapore A Cappella Society.

CHORAL PERFORMANCE
- Joined the UP Singing Ambassadors in 1985 and UP Kasarinlan in 1986.
- Joined the UP Madrigal Singers in 1987 under the leadership of Prof. Andrea O. Veneracion, National Artist for Music, and went on national and international tours with the group until 1996. His travels with the group has brought him to the most esteemed concert halls in the major cities of the Asian, European, North American, and Australian continents singing for various audiences including command performances for heads of state, royalty and His Holiness Pope John Paul II. He has participated with the Madrigal Singers in the most prestigious international choral festivals and competitions, notably the championships in five European contests in 1989.
- Performs occasionally with the Koro Madrigal, the alumni ensemble of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, and The Chamber Choir of Asia.

- Started teaching choirs since high school (1978) at the Western Luzon Agricultural College.

ARTS MANAGEMENT PRACTICE
- Established his own production outfit, ConcertNet Philippines Co., in 1994 and produced outreach performances of Filipino and visiting musicians, actors and dancers in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao until 2002.
- Chosen by Prof. Andrea O. Veneracion to be part of the Artistic Board of the UP Madrigal Singers in 1995 to pave the way for the transition of the group’s leadership to the current choirmaster, Mark Anthony Carpio.
- Taught at the De La Salle University – College of St. Benilde from 1997 to 2001. As one of the pioneer faculty members of the institution’s School of Design and Arts, he designed courses for the arts management program and was invited to teach subjects in related programs such as theater management.
- Managed the pop trio, III of A Kind, a talent of Star Records from 1999 to 2001
- Invited personally by Ryan Cayabyab to head the marketing, sales and business services of The San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts from its establishment in 2001 to its dissolution in 2006.
- Line produced the music albums of The San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra and The San Miguel Master Chorale, which garnered awards, citations and gold record status.
- Invited to judge in the annual Awit Awards for several seasons.
